Deitrick L. Gorman, D.O. is a Board-Certified Family Practice Physician. She was born and raised in the Midwest; a midsized town called Fort Wayne, Indiana. With the unfaltering love, support and encouragement of her mother, Gladys, she knew from a very early age that she wanted to be a doctor.  She attended Purdue University and she also joined a sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  She worked during her time in school and still was able to graduate with good standing. She then went on to attend Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana where she earned her Master of Science in Medical Science. She later took a chance, and after being accepted to medical school,  moved to New Jersey where she attended the now Rowan University (the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey school of Osteopathic Medicine). Here, she obtained her Doctorate Degree.  It was in medical school, where she lost her father. Although difficult, she continued through school and completed.

Returning home to Fort Wayne, to complete her 3-year Family Practice residency, she really learned to appreciate and cherish the title of Family Practitioner.  She relished the fact that she could treat all ages of people. She understood that she needed to know a lot about many different medical conditions and then apply this to patient care. When in residency she continued to play the flute.

Right out of residency, she was recruited to work in a small West Texas town called Pecos (Home of the World’s first Rodeo). Here she was able to practice the true meaning of Family Medicine.  Her practiced entailed seeing newborn, to geriatrics patients. She even delivered babies. It was here living in Pecos, using social media networking, where she became reacquainted with an old college acquaintance living in another state. Later, she and Kasaly became engaged.

Through the course of her life, educational and work experiences, she knew there was more to do with her life and that she should be doing more to bring to fruition her vision. But before this, she had to face and recognize how one of her low points in life could turn out to be of benefit not only to herself but others.  She enrolled in business and mindset coaching programs which helped her arrive at her purpose. She also enlisted an exercise coach to help match her mental with her physical.   It was during these experiences she proclaimed herself as “America’s Relaxation Doctor”.
